An Extraordinary Journey Wow, what just happened? With understanding and empathy from Lesley Maclellan, ably assisted by her associate, Mike Cassidy. Somehow, we flipped from a more conventional marketing/auction campaign to a virtual auction where we achieved an outstanding result for the sale our Mother’s estate home. The usual process had begun with the appraisal, photos, video, sales board, etc. The campaign began with the first week of open homes with some excellent participation, great follow-up and communication. Then along came COVID and the national lockdown. It didn’t take long to realise we should build on week one and pivot to a virtual campaign. Open homes and inspections were off the agenda but with an open and transparent process Lesley and Mike worked tirelessly to retain interest from those who had seen the property and generated substantial interest from those who could only view the online material. In two weeks, we had 14 registered bidders and the online auction process worked remarkably well to reach a value well in excess of our expectations. Lesley clearly understood the charm of the property and targeted the most likely demographic and so it came to be. She took control of the process with meticulous and detailed feedback.
